Ok, so i'm STILL going through my Calvin and Hobbes phase. What can I say, i'm a sucker for the little brat and his tiger. :D Anyways, here's my fave's that i've seen so far:

Talk about starting off on a sombre note, but I couldn't help read this strip and think, "Calvin, you can be such a bastard at times." This follows a spout of Calvin skitting Susie, and the reason I loved this strip, is because there's so many people out there who can identify with that bullshit saying, and feel that lost hope that Susie does.

Bill Watterson was and is a genius. And his humour is top of the comic world. The last window on this strip had me literally LOL'ing, and that's not something I do as a hobby.

To see a tiger, in mid-air after being flung by a way-ward push-kart, to quietly state that his heart has stopped in the way Hobbes does in this strip... it made me nearly piss myself. There's something about that window that is funny beyond words, I can't pinpoint it.

It's amazing how Hobbes can still seem such a life-like character, even when presented in his 'stuffed tiger' form. Calvin's final response borders on slightly chilling. Knowing what he knows and what Susie doesn't know about him and Hobbes is one of life's never-ending mysteries...

It's ALWAYS great to see Calvin stick it to his dad. :D

It's not often we see Hobbes end a strip more pissed off than even Calvin, but when we do it usualyl guarantees a gold finisher by the tiger, and he doesn't fail to deliver on this occasion.

It's not so much the fact Hobbes ends up in the dryer (what with us having grown to him as a 'real' person), but the fact he, and Calvin for that matter, take the event as a given, and have a nice little bitch at the end about how he could have looked better.

I was fooled by this strip. The fact Calvin sees through his mother's ploy, after what was initially a very heart-warming opener, just paints that kid as he is.

A very nice example in the last window of how dark the humour of C&H could be. What other comic would have a 6 yr old making a threat like that? Hobbes' Jump = 11/10

I absolutely FUCKING love this strip. The gap between parent and child is presented in such a beautiful way, you can't help but find Calvin's happiness so fucking cute, and his dad's dis-interest in the photo's bordering on saddening. i think we all remember this innocence.

Calvin's dad can be very mis-understanding at times, but it's times like this, when he's at his cruel impressionable best, that he charms me.

Funny as it seems, it IS actually satisfying to see Calvin get his come-uppance at times, moreso when it's from Hobbes.

Possible cliff-hangers are always nice to dwell on. Hobbes receiving the greatest last-lines is ALWAYS sweet.

We all had our young school crushes. And a lot of them DID usually revolve around us 'hating' the other person, hiding our secret tendencies in the process. Love this strip.

Watterson was usually at his best when taking stabs at today's society, without fully acknowledging it. This is one of his better examples.
