I realised last night that I must be the only person in the world who doesn't know all the words to any of the three songs:
1. Smells like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
2. YMCA - The Village People
3. That song from the credits in 'There's Something About Mary'. It's got the line, 'Why do you build me up, buttercup?"
And I was shocked. SLTS is like one of the most famous songs ever. Not as famous as say, 'Bohemian Rhapsody', but it's very famous. And yet I don't know the lyrics. And to add insult to injury, my brother stands opposite me and sings every line in the song without interruption. Where did I go wrong?
YMCA. The homosexually linked Village People song, made even more famous than it already was when it appeared on Wayne's World 2'. The lyrics I know? 'Y, M, C, A!'. Oh and the arm movements which everyone calls a dance. And yet again, everyone around me sings the song out with ease.
And that buttercup song's just annoying.

How does one subscribe to to the programme Pop Idol? Does one watch it with a pack of Cheese and Onion walkers crisps and a can of dr. Pepper? Do I watch it while waving my 'vote Gaw-ith' flag around like a crazed world series fan? Or do I simply opt not to watch it because i am not allowing myself to be drawn into this commercially over-run teeny-bopper craze which simply allows females to get all wet between the legs and males to mouth off about how amazing they are compared to the two contestants?
Pop Idol's useless. It doesn't give the same satisfaction that Big Brother does. I didn't watch Pop Idol at all for fear of becoming a teeny bopper and the only good part i did notice was old Twat-erman and High-pants Cowell having a good ol' moan at eachother. That was sheer entertainment. To see two grown men arguing over such a silly trivial matter was pure entertainment. To see two young strapping blokes competing in a talent contest to become the 1000th solo male singer out there is depressing.
Why a solo singer? Why not a solo musician?? That way we get somebody who would actually ooze a little bit of talent and not just sing. Anyone can sing. I have a shit voice but I can sing just as good as those two silly buggers. What would have been good on the other hand then?
How about 'Pop-an-idol'? In this show the viewers get to view soft fuckers singing crappy over-rated songs to make it seem like they are talented to all the female teenagers out there. After viewing they then get to vote for who gets punched by Mike Tyson. The final contestant would no doubt be Will because with a chin like that, even tyson gonna find out that that chin is a unique case of 'chewing off more than you can bite'...
(NB: Generalisation is not a crime though noticing it in any argument is a sheer advantage and must be capatilised upon.)
